DFI takes the enthusiast's market by storm. The DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI DR-Expert is truely king.

INTRODUCTION

If you told me 2-3 years ago that DFI will take the enthusiast's market by storm ... I would have laughed and said that you're crazy. I have to admit, I'm going to eat humble pie. I remember back then, DFI produced very boring motherboards ... just like FIC and Jetway. Nothing about their products were innovative nor interesting ... and they definitely weren't regarded as a manufacturer for the enthusiast. A lot have changed since then, and I guess DFI realised that the enthusiast market was very lucrative ... so it was worth taking the risk to see how well they do. DFI (Diamond Flower International) specialises in PC components especially motherboards. Their headquarters are based in Taiwan and they have offices around the world including Germany, Netherlands, US and Japan.

Looking at the enthusiast market, and the whole intriging world of LAN party gaming ... DFI's marketing team realised that there is a need to supply top quality products that would give the gamers and enthusiasts what they want. A motherboard that offers good performance and stability, a good BIOS with plenty of options for overclocking including voltage adjustment for CPU and DDR ram. DFI took the plunge and introduced their LAN Party series of motherboards. They knew the enthusiast market would be a tough one crack... but to everyone's surprise their motherboards received lots of positive feedback.

DFI's LAN Party series of motherboards features special slots, connectors and rounded cables which are all UV sensitive. It looks absolutley great, if you have an UV cold cathode tube installed. And after spending extreme amounts of money and time customising your PC, wouldn't it be great to show off your rig to others at LAN parties. Hence, modified ATX cases with windowed side panels, showing your PC's internals are popping up everywhere. It's become quite the norm to do this at LAN parties. These are the kind of features gamers and enthuisasts want ... BUT that's not all, the most important thing when it comes to motherboards, boils down to 2 things ... performance and stability.

Luckily, from what we've heard, motherboards from DFI's LAN Party series have both performance and stability. Gamers, enthusiasts and overclockers have all said good things about DFI's motherboards. Some enthusiasts have said that they've managed to overclock their Opteron 165 all the way upto 3.0Ghz, with rock solid stability on a DFI NF4 SLI DR-Expert. While gamers have consistantly said that it tops all the gaming benchmarks. Can this really be true?

To find out for ourselves ... we take a closer look at the DFI Lanparty UT NF4 SLI DR-Expert.
