Another Three CPU Cooler Review for July 2007 Introduction Last month we reviewed three CPU coolers from Gigabyte and NoiseBlocker which all looked good and performed moderately well on a Core2Quad processor. This month, in July, thanks to www.QuietPC.com, we have another set of three CPU coolers to keep you even more cooled for Summer, and again from two different manufacturers, but both are originated from Korea. I must say these Koreans certainly know how to keep their cool!
In this CPU cooler review we look at APACK which will be the first time we've reviewed one of their products and also Coolink. We've previously reviewed Coolink products before but it was only their chipset cooler. Lets have a look at some brief background on these two manufacturers...
"Coolink is a brand of the Kolink International Corporation and stands for an effective conjunction of no-frills performance, excellent quality and attractive pricing. Coolink - the direct link to affordable high-end cooling! Kolink International Corporation is a cooling specialist established in 1996 and well known among industry insiders. Throughout the years, Kolink designed and manufactured many top-performing heat-sinks under various brand names that succeeded in international markets. An experienced R&D team and ultra-modern production plants in Taiwan ensure continuous progress, efficient manufacturing conditions and strict quality standards." - Coolink-Europe
ZEROtherm is a brand of the APACK who are a heat-pipe technology based thermal solutions provider here's what they have to say for themselves: "APACK is a heatpipe technology based thermal solution provider which provides customized designing and engineering solutions and, ultimately, provides best-of breed thermal solutions.APACK’s design and manufacturing is based upon an engineer’s passion for innovation and progress. APACKwas established in 1999 by 3 engineers from ETRI (Electrics and Telecommunications Research Institute) who have 10~17 years experience in thermal solutions and advance packaging technology (packaging referring to the structural and functional integration of multiple technologies). Based in the city of Daejeon (Korean Silicon Valley and high-tech capital), APACK is staffed with top engineers who have extensive experience." - ZEROtherm
As you can see both manufacturers have their own R&D department which is essential for bringing highly innovative products to the market. They both have the same goal with the products that we are about to review and that is reducing heat and noise. Coolink has provided us with their Silentator with its 3 high-performance dual heatpipes and optimised fin-design along with its 120mm high performance 14dB silent fan the SWiF1202. ZEROtherm has kindly sent us two models which are different in configuration, the BFT80 which is a tower configuration with an excellent (sculpted like) design and high-performance silent fans, the second model the CF800 is a standard profile/height design with auto fan speed controlled by temp. sensor and four lines of heatpipes cooled by and optimised air-flow design. It all sounds good but lets take a closer look at each of these CPU coolers
