Inno3D's first step into the enthusiast's market ... can they do it? Introduction Earlier this year, I was in Hong Kong on a business trip. While I was out there, I managed to meet with Inno3D at their headquarters in Cheung Sha Wan, HK. I was speaking to their marketing specialist, and they have agreed to establish a mutual relationship that would benefit both Inno3D and CPU3D ... This is GREAT news. For those, especially in the US, who don't know who Inno3D are ... then read on. Inno3D specialises in multimedia products such as graphic/video cards and many USB devices. Their head office is based in Hong Kong, and they have other offices around the world too. Inno3D are one of Nvidia's many partners, which mean all their graphic cards they produce uses Nvidia's GPUs.
Over the years, Inno3D have been producing a lot of video cards targeting the budget to mid-range market. And for this reason most consumers have branded them as a budget card manufacturer, rather like ECS and ASRock a few years ago. They do produce some higher-end cards like the GT and GTX series, but most of these cards are based on Nvidia's reference designs.
Imagine my surprise when I was told by their marketing PR that they were experimenting on their latest release, with a modified copper cooler produced and designed by Zalman. Their 7600GST is that card. It is an overclocked version of the 7600GS with the GPU core running at 500Mhz and features 256MB DDR3 ram rated at 1400Mhz. It looks like Inno3D may be testing the waters in the enthusiast market. I guess they want to see how consumers will react when they release the 7600GST. OK, now let's not waste anymore time and see what Inno3D's 7600GST has to offer ...
