Thermaltake's DuOrb and V1 CPU Coolers Reviewed |

HardOCP
"Thermaltake has come to market with two new coolers. One is a new rub on an old design, and the other looks like something you might find on a forward-looking fighter craft. But of course, how do these things work? Let's find out.
... We first looked at the V1 back in November of 2007 and found it to perform well on a dual-core CPU. It is back again to flex its cooling muscles on our quad-core setup along with one of Thermaltake’s newest coolers, the DuOrb CPU edition. If you feel a bit of Déjà vu coming on it’s because Thermaltake first used this design as a VGA cooler and our testing found it to perform quite well on our 8800GT at the time. How well this design will work on a CPU pumping out a lot more heat remains to be seen. "

Microsoft sells 10 million Xbox 360s in the US |

The INQ
"SOFTWARE giant, Microsoft became the first outfit to flog its 10 millionth next-generation game console in the United States. According to Aaron Greenberg, Vole's director of product management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, the 10 million figure is usually reached by the eventual winner of the console race in each generation.
Nintendo's Wii and Sony's Playstation 3 came into the game too late to defeat Vole, he said. Sony has been the first to the 10 million landmark in the two previous generations with its creatively named PS1 and PS2.
However in the US, the PS3 has only managed to sell 4.1 million so far while the Wii has done much better with 8.8 million sales. Microsoft said it has sold 19 million Xboxes worldwide and its Xbox Live service has reached 12 million total users."

ASUS Looks to Tame Rivals With Atom-based Eee PC 901 |

Dailytech
"ASUS readies yet another addition to the Eee PC family. Yesterday, DailyTech reported on MSI's new Wind notebook which will do battle with ASUS' Eee PC 900. The MSI Wind has a slightly larger footprint than the Eee PC 900, but adds such features as an 80GB 2.5" SATA HDD, 10" display, and Bluetooth (on the high-end version).
These features can all be had for the starting price of $399 according to MSI Director of U.S. Sales, Andy Tung. The pricing puts serious pressure on the 8.9" Eee PC 900 which is priced at $549.99.
With all the buzz on the internet turning towards MSI's Wind, it's not too surprising that pictures of a reinvigorated Eee PC 901 have "leaked" to the internet. Blogeee.net posted a number of new images depicting a more rounded and chrome-laden model.
As the name suggest, it appears that the Eee PC 901 will still soldier on with an 8.9" display instead of the forthcoming 10" display -- this would continue the precedent set by the Eee PC 701 (7" display) and the Eee PC 900 (8.9" display)."

Techreport
"Last week, Gigabyte invited a gaggle of journalists to Taipei for a sneak peek at its P45 motherboard lineup. We were there, and have a full report on the new features and models you can expect to see this summer.
Gigabyte had no less than five different P45 models on display, including a new Extreme board that may well live up to its name, at least as far as overclocking is concerned. The company also unveiled a number of new features that will be spread throughout its P45 family, including an improved version of its Dynamic Energy Saver software, trusted computing compatibility, and a driver-free hardware RAID solution that uniquely combines multiple auxiliary storage controllers. Keep reading for the goods on Gigabyte's upcoming P45 products. "

Booq Boa Laptop Case Review |

Legit Reviews
"Today, we take a quick look at Booq’s newest briefcase-style case for laptops, the Boa Case. Booq, the privately held company located in Southern California, has been making high quality cases for camera and computer equipment for some time now. We have seen evidence of Booq’s high quality and functionality when we reviewed their Python XL Backpack case. Unlike the Booq backpack, the $215 Boa Laptop case is much more conservative case looking more like a traditional laptop carrier. For this price, the Boa has to be special.
Booq calls the Boa “A travel bag designed especially for frequently-traveling professionals.” This bag has about 2,000 pockets and zippers to store all your favorite gear and gadgets. Actually, we counted 9 zippered pockets, 3 magnetic pockets, with 4 large compartments for your precious cargo."

Game Testing 2GB versus 4GB of Memory on Vista 64-bit |

Legit Reviews
"In order to find out how much more performance 4GB of memory has to offer over 2GB of memory we needed to use identical kits, just with different IC's. We ended up using the Corsair DOMINATOR TWIN2X4096-9136C5D and DOMINATOR TWIN2X2048-9136C5D memory kits as they are both rated at 1142MHz with 5-5-5-15 2T timings.
We ran all the benchmarks at 1920x1200 and found that a performance difference was seen in most of the games that we tested. The performance difference was not as large as we expected, but it was no big shock to find that Crysis v1.21 had the biggest performance increase. Call of Duty 4 and Laura Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary also saw fairly large performance increases by doubling the amount of memory. Call of Juarez v1.1.0.0 and World in Conflict v1.007 didn't seem to benefit from the extra memory and no increase was observed."
